Hello friends! I find that I always begin to crave more color at this time of year so it's fun to add some pops of red to our home the week or so leading up to Valentine's Day. I thought I'd share a few pictures of that with you today.
I added a sink skirt made from a tablecloth along with a banner from Target (last year). The little red house above the coffee mug rack is from Target this year. They always have such cute Valentine's Day decor! I have collected most of this stuff over the years and now I have quite a collection of red and white decor. I limit myself to just one bin for the smaller holidays like Valentine's Day.When I walked into Whole Foods the other day, I was greeted with a display of spring flowers that made me smile. The temperature was in the teens that day so I had to add a small bouquet to my cart.We switched our dining room and living rooms (again) for the colder months. I like having more room for our dining area in the colder months when we can't eat outside. Another winter project was painting the fireplace green (Calke green by Farrow and Ball). I'm loving it and I can feel my style evolving a little bit. I'll share about that soon.I even added a few Valentine's Day touches in our bathroom this year. I found the heart hand towels at HomeGoods.I worked with Walgreens on some Valentine's Day content this year and I love how it came out! This isn't sponsored for the blog at all, but I thought I'd share the idea here because I think personalized gifts are so much more meaningful and maybe you are looking for some ideas. I created a board print of a recent picture of Billy and me and a card with Dax on it. These items are available for same day pickup too and you can order them here.
We actually don't have any plans for Valentine's Day this year. We will most likely enjoy a nice dinner at home. We developed a tradition of having Rachael Ray's Venetian Shrimp and Scallops each year and we'll probably stick with that. It's so good! How about you? Happy Valentine's Day!
